Redeeming the Years

On yesterday as I was ending my work day, I received a call. What a wonderful surprise it was. Before I knew it, we had conversed for over an hour. We laughed, reminisced, and shared the good, great, and growing times of our lives.

As I reflected me, my family member witnessed the goodness of the Lord and all that He had done in his life. He shared so much wisdom. He did state that for many years he didn’t make the choices and didn’t make the right decisions, yet is was grateful that the Lord has given him another chance.

The Word of God states in Joel 2:25 (KJV) ~ And I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten. Job 8:7 (KJV) says: Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. So as I praise God for what He has done, I must remember what the Word of the Lord says. He is not slack concerning His promises, if He said it, it shall come to pass. So I decree and declare a God’s favor and blessings upon my family member. So I say keep on doing well…

HE Ordered My Steps

As I sat this morning after spending time with my Father God. I began to reflect on my childhood. I was blessed to have a biological parents that loved me enough to give me to my father’s second oldest sister and husband at 3 months of age. As I was reared I was blessed to be in a Pentecostal Christian home. My aunt a Minister and my Uncle a Deacon. Church, Church, and more Church. As I continued to mature, I began to spend Saturdays with another Aunt that was a Leading Lady or as some refer to a First Lady of two congregations. Our tasks each Saturday began with cooking, then baking pies. We then went on to cleaning, and ironing. If there was an upcoming convention, I assisted her with packing for my uncle and her. I remember well the trips to North West Florida, and Central Florida. I was always filled with excitement because I would get to see my friends from near and far. From those early years I have a close bond with a friend in Orlando to this day. As time went on my Uncle that reared me passed on. The Uncle that was a Senior Pastor and State Superintendent passed away. Twelve years later my mother passed. Three years later so did my Aunt that was a First Lady. One may say so much death for a young lady. yes, I agree, however God allowed them to impart Godly wisdom into me. As I reflect and prepare to celebrate 19 years of service to God and a congregation where my husband serves as the Senior Pastor I know that through those six people, HE ordered my steps. HE used them to mold, teach, and mentor me. As I reflect, I Am Grateful for the things HE has done.

Psalm 37:23

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way.

I am grateful for the things that You have done
Yes I am grateful for the victories we’ve won
I could go on and on and on about Your works
Because I’m grateful, grateful so grateful just to praise you, Lord
Flowing from my heart
Are the issues of my heart
Is gratefulness
(repeat)

Grateful, grateful, grateful, grateful
Grateful, grateful, grateful, grateful
Grateful, grateful, grateful, gratefulness
Is flowing from my heart

Flowing from my heart
Are the issues of my heart
Is gratefulness

Walk With Me Lord

exhortationservantofthemosthigh's avatarexhortationservantofthemosthigh

As I walked the trail this week I could not pass up an opportunity to take this picture. The scripture, Jeremiah 29:11 came to mind.  “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Walk with me Lord; walk with me
Walk with me Lord; walk with me
Ooh, while I’m on this tedious journey
I want Jesus to walk with me.

Oh, hold my hand Lord; please hold my hand
Oh, hold my hand Lord; hold, hold my hand
While I’m on this tedious journey
I want Jesus to walk with me.

HE Blessed Me With Two…

As I sat reflecting on what tomorrow is… Father’s Day.

I could see their faces as though it was just the other day. Both had smiles that could light up any dark pathway. Both tall in stature, both always filled a room with laughter. Though I see them on this earth no more, I shall one day in the after, after the rapture…

HE Blessed Me With Two… Yes, as the Nation celebrates another Father’s Day on tomorrow, Sunday, June 17, 2012. I will remember my two father’s the Late Ennis Hansberry, Jr., the man who gave me life, and who loved me enough to transfer his parenthood to the Late Deacon Samuel Stanback, the man who took me from three months old and reared, imparted, and taught me until I was twelve, that is when the Lord called him from labor to reward.

Thank you Lord, yes HE Blessed Me With Two…

I am HIS Servant,

Trudy
